Oana Tatu – Violin

Oana has been freelancing as a violist in Chicago and the surrounding areas in the past 20 years. A graduate of Depaul University and former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, she was fortunate to play under the baton of some of the world’s greatest conductors like Piere Boulez, Seiji Osawa, Gerard Schwarz, and Alan Gilbert, to name a few. Aside from her classical music training and career, Oana enjoys playing music of all genres and collaborating with local artists on their projects, as well as with international stars such as Andrea Bocelli, Smokey Robinson, the Eagles, Regina Spektor, and Katharine McPhee. Currently Oana is performing and recording with various local groups and artists, is a member of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, and has the most fun playing Candlelight shows and fiddling pop and rock music with many of the local bands, especially with Steve Edward’s Orchestra. She loves making music alongside her friends and colleagues, and strives to convey her passion for music to the minds and hearts of the many audiences of Chicagoland.
